Waramaug 2-6-10

Waramaug 2-6-10

Postby International on Sun Feb 07, 2010 12:27 pm

Great day out on the water in terms of having alot of laughs but for myself fishing wasn't as good as I thought it would be. We were on the edge of a low pressure system and was overcast all day long. The Snow storm we were supposed to be hit with never came. I measured 10-12" of black ice.

Set up 5 tip ups scattered around in 8-20 FOW tipped with minnows and made myself a few holes in 15-25' for jigging. Managed 4 sunnies on on a light jig tipped with a mousie right on the bottom. That was the fishing excitement for me today other than being a team player and running around and managing the line when everyone elses tip ups were going off. The biggest bass today was just over 1.5lbs and the rest were around that size also. 1 came off a jig. A total of 8 bass landed by everyone.3 slime darts were landed as well all on tip ups.

Didnt see anyone else around us catch much either. But despite thewind whipping in 20degree weather I was comfortable all day long.

Ill get em next week

Not a bad day can't complain as long as you land something.

Sunday is looking like the day Im gonna hit the Ice as I have to work Saturday till 2:30. We want to hit up Waramog again but this time we will have the Quad and trailer so we will be able to hit the further points of the lake(Ct's 2nd biggest only to Candlewood) The further points are the deeper water so hopefully we can produce a better day.

I think i'd rather get skunked than catch Sunnies though..I'll hold off the embarasment and if I dont see a good photo ill upload the photo of me and a freezer bag of sunny's for basstard of the month.. :?
