my new ride

Postby Derek on Sun Feb 07, 2010 6:22 pm

Pick it up today, 12' aluminum jon weighs in at about half what my plastic jon weighs
I am going to wire it so the battery is in the back and the trolling motor is up front and once i get it in the water and see how stable it is i might deck out the front of it

Nice fleet! How much did she set you back? Buying in the off-season is easier on the wallet, and also allows you to apply the hours of work without losing the hours of fishing.

I have a few things I need to get done on my boat. My first priority will be replacing the rivets on the handles and nose-piece with bolts. Years of ratcheting tie-downs loosened them up and I'm afraid she'll go on the highway and kill everyone behind me. I'll have to drill them out and install new hardware. Maybe I'll do it in March before the big thaw.

Hard to go wrong for $300. Is that the one you'd compete in?

Nice Find and great deal..If you can find a small outboard to go on that piece you will be all set. The spring time is a great time to find a motor that wasnt properly winterized and people give up on them and sell em for dirt. Most times a proper carb cleaning and your good to go Image
