Build Your Own Hook Keeper
Free Hook Keeper.

How many times have you been out on the water and decided to call it a day while Texas rigged? This requires you to take the hook out of the worm to hook it on the holder at which point your plastic bait is damaged and nearly worthless for Texas rigging a second time. Here is the solution, if your rod does not come with this style of hook keep standard.
Step 1
Take small paper clip (preferably from your office's supply cabinet).
Step 2
Stretch the paper clip out, using existing bend to make it 2 parallel sides.
Step 3
Using needle nose pliers, pinch the bend tighter and trim the long end even with the shorter end.
Step 4
Make a small bend at the rounded tip. Make another bend about 3/8" down from the first.
Step 5
Attach to pole using your choice of tape.
It is best to keep it low profile and near the existing keeper so it doesn't interfere with your line. The paper clip is made of cheap steel so you will have to change it out every year. They do sell similar products but why buy one when your office closet has a lifetime supply.
